Dreams are completely misunderstood in our society. Everyone dreams about things before they happen but most people don’t remember those dreams. We all have multiple dreams every night but most people are lucky to remember one of them. Your consciousness is like a muscle you have to work at expanding it, just like you would work out to build muscle in your physical body.
My dreams have always been extremely vivid and full of details. It still took me almost 20 years to realize I was dreaming about things before they happened and not just having deja vu. I started writing down my dreams because they felt significant and I couldn’t shake them. As soon as I started keeping a journal I was able to verify that it was really happening and then I could see the bigger picture.
If you want to figure out why it’s happening then you should start writing down your dreams as soon as you wake up. Keep a notebook and pen next to your bed and write down anything you remember. Sometimes you might only remember the emotion you woke up with and a split second image but once you start writing usually more will come back to you piece by piece. When you keep a dream journal not only can you look back and verify that it’s not deja vu but you can also look at the patterns.
Finding the patterns can help you figure out if the days you’re dreaming about are significant and what your subconscious is pre-occupied with. It can also help you acknowledge things that you might not be consciously facing. You might gain a new perspective about a situation or you might find signs about how to approach a problem. I receive guidance in my dreams all the time and it’s usually something I never would have thought about but it always leads me in the right direction.
I have noticed that whatever day or event I’ve had a dream about is always significant. It’s usually someone new coming into my life, the day I finally learned a huge lesson or any drastic change. Now I use these dreams as signs and when I realize it’s happening I make sure I’m consciously aware of everything that’s going on because I know something important is happening in my life.
If this is happening often and you remember it then you might want to read more about dreams in general. Without a lot of effort you can start remembering more than just one dream a night, lucid dream, astral travel, ask for specific guidance in your dreams and even visit with loved ones that have passed away. (You just have to experience these things for yourself no one can convince you it's possible but from my experience I can tell you it certainly is.)
When you keep a journal it will be easier to verify that all of these things are not only possible but happening. The possibilities that our dreams hold are amazing and the more you develop your abilities to remember, control, and create your dreams the more connections you’ll find with your everyday life.
One last piece of advice... Don’t even bother trying to convince people it’s happening. Keep a journal and you’ll know for yourself that it’s really happening. Unfortunately people are still very close minded about things like this and refuse to accept it never mind try and understand it. Trying to convince someone who’s never experienced a pre-cognitive dream that it’s really happening to you is like trying to describe colors to someone who’s color blind. You’ll only drive yourself insane doing it, just enjoy the ride.
